My Good Old- Lemon Ice Tea
Can’t live without this drink…
I never miss a chance to have a lemon ice tea anywhere and wherever i am…
All this while i had to wait till i got a chance to eat out or visit a coffee shop to have my tall glass of lemon iced tea but now i have learned this tantra myself….
Perfect drink to have on one of hot hot summer days….
You Need:
For Lemonade Concentrate:
1. Sugar- 1 1/2 cups
2. Water- 2 1/2 cups
3. Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)- 2 cups (This is will take good 12-15 lemons)
4. Lime Zest- 1/2 cup
For Brewing Iced Tea:
1. Tea Bags- 4-5 Bags
2. Cold water- 4 cups
This is how you make it:
Lemonade Concentrate:
1. Combine sugar & water in a saucepan and bring it to boil. Let it boil for 5 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and cool it for 15 minutes.
3. Immediately plunge lemon zest in to it and allow it to steep for 7 minutes.
4. Allow this syrup to completely cool down at room temperature.
5. After the syrup cools down completely, add the lime juice and stir.
6. Refrigerate the syrup in a air tight container. This syrup can be refrigerated for atleast 10 t0 12 days.
Brew Iced Tea:
1. Place the tea bags in a pitcher.
2. Bring 2 cups of cold water with mint sprigs to boil.
3. Pour the boiling water directly over the tea bags and let it steep for 5 minutes.
4. Remove the tea bags and add 2 cups of cold water.
How to have the “Lemon Iced Tea”
1. Take a tall glass and fill 1/4th of the glass with lemonade concentrate.
2. Nextly add ice- around 5 cubes ( You could add more as per your likings)
3. Pour the brewed iced tea over the cubes till the brim.
4. A quick stir with a stirrer, a mint leaf to garnish and you are ready to go
Tip: The lemonade concentrate can serve atleast 20 glasses. To use the lemonade concentrate to have lemonade- add 2 portion of water to 1 portion of lemonade concentrate.
